Journalling Your Creative Process: Digital Art Journalling in Procreate

Earlier this year, I created a mini pattern collection featuring summer flowers in Melbourne. It’s quite a lengthy process from getting inspiration all the way to creating the patterns, so I decided to briefly document my process in the form of digital art journalling in Procreate.

My creative process for this pattern collection is broken down into four main stages: Inspiration, Asset Creation, Pattern Making, and Presentation. I created a journal spread for each of these stages in this tutorial. If you would like to follow along, I suggest you find an old work you’ve created and collect evidence of you making this work.

I have created some background paper before this tutorial. You can see how I made them in the previous tutorial here.

You can download the background paper I used in this tutorial here.

You can also download the color palette here.

Happy creating!
